3 Awesome Lesser Known Orlando Attractions

Looking for alternatives to the major Disney and Universal Parks?

Save money while enjoying some smaller, but still fun attractions. We used the Explorer pass so we could save some additional money and still have fun.  Signing up, downloading the app, and then using it were all easy and then seamless at the attractions.

WonderWorks

You know, that upside building that you usually pass by on International Drive…

What a surprise. Wonderworks is full of interesting exhibits that the kids will love.  Is it education or entertainment?  Both.  Wonderworks does a fantastic job of making learning fun keeping kids engaged as they move from station to station.  Starting off in the natural disaster area (maybe that’s how the building turned upside down?), where you can experience an earthquake, hurricane and more, we were into it.  Other exhibits tested the senses as you moved throughout the building.  Included in our ticket was a fun game of laser tag which I hadn’t played in years. Should I have been winded after 6 minutes?

Chocolate Kingdom

Learn how chocolate is made in this well done entertaining tour.  Personality is added into the tour making it a fun learning experience, especially if you love chocolate.   And, yes, you get samples.  You can save on admission and get a chocolate bar when you use an explorer.  There are two locations, one in Orlando on International Drive, the other is In Kissimmee right off 192 by Fun Spot.

With the Go Explorer card, you can save up to 20% off theme park tickets.  Participating attractions also include Gatorland, Sun Spot, Legoland, and SeaWorld.

Mini-Golf at Congo River

The Congo River Mini Golf on International Drive is a great excursion when visiting Orlando. Everything about it is upscale.  The theming makes the play interesting, the holes/greens make it enjoyable and there’s a scavenger hunt built in for extra fun.  Congo River has a scoring app, but you can certainly do the old school mini pencil and scorecard. Consider buying the Orlando Explorer pass which gets you into multiple Orlando attractions for one pass price.
